The Prime Minister called for the final schedule to implement the privatization of PIA

The Prime Minister has asked for a final schedule for the implementation of the privatization of PIA.

According to ARY News, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says that negligence will not be tolerated and transparency should be ensured.

The meeting was attended by Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Asif, Atta Tarr, Rana Mashhood, Mossadegh Malik while Ahmed Cheema, Governor State Bank, Chairman FBR, Banker Muhammad Aurangzeb and others were also present.

The Prime Minister gave in-principle approval to the proposed roadmap for automation of FBR.

In the meeting, the automation of FBR, ensuring transparency in the system, structural reforms according to global standards and tax increase were reviewed.

Eradication of corruption and smuggling, separation of inland revenue and customs departments were also considered. Former Caretaker Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar gave a briefing on the restructuring of FBR.

The prime minister was briefed that tax to GDP in Pakistan is less than 9.5% in the world, increasing tax to GDP is necessary for the development of Pakistan.

Shahbaz Sharif said that resolving the legal disputes would provide 1.7 trillion to the exchequer, Ishaq Dar established a solid foundation with the IMF on which progress was made.
