Lahore: The Punjab government has announced a local holiday yesterday, under which there will be a public holiday in all government educational and district institutions of Lahore.

According to the details, the Punjab government has declared a local holiday on Saturday, March 2 on the occasion of the annual Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Shah Hussain (Mila Chiraghan).

The notification has said that there will be a public holiday in all government educational and district institutions of Lahore, but the holiday will not apply to the employees of the Punjab Civil Secretariat.

It should be noted that the annual three-day Urs celebrations of Hazrat Shah Hussain will begin on Saturday in the provincial capital.

A large number of religious committee members, religious scholars and pilgrims will participate on this occasion.

The endowment department has earmarked Rs 459,000 for Urs grant while the local police and the department have made foolproof security arrangements for the pilgrims.
