Terrorist involved in Data Darbar blast arrested from Karachi


KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Department and Rangers arrested an operative of the banned TTP in Naval Colony during a joint operation.

According to the spokesperson of CTD, the accused is also involved in the explosions at Data Darbar and FC check post in Lahore. Explosive materials and illegal weapons have been recovered from the accused Mir Wais.

CTD said that explosive material weighing 1 kg and dead cord wire 2 meters, detonator, hand grenade, Kalashnikov, magazine 20 rounds and money were also recovered from the accused.

According to the spokesperson, the accused received training in terrorism from Afghanistan, he was planning terrorism with other associates.

A case was registered against the accused and investigation was started.

On May 8, 2019, an explosion took place outside Dataganj Bakhsh's shrine in Lahore, in which 10 people were killed.

Police termed the blast as suicide and said that the security forces were targeted.
