See 4 dating apps besides Tinder

When you think about dating apps, Tinder is, without a doubt, the most popular. The platform accumulates more than 70 billion matches. In Brazil, the company arrived in 2013. But there is also a wide range of applications for those who are tired of Tinder.

Most are also based on matching to form couples. A menu is presented to the user, and they can swipe their profile to the right or left. But other dating apps also bring some innovations to stand out from the competition, such as maximum time to start a chat or form potential matches according to common places that users frequent.

Here are some dating app options:

Bumble

The application brings some new features compared to competitor Tinder. In it, after a heterosexual couple matches, only women can start a chat. “We empower women to make the first move by giving them the ability to control the conversation,” says Bumble’s introductory note. In same-sex connections, anyone can make the first move.

Furthermore, there is a 24-hour limit for the user to start a conversation with the target of interest. The other profile has the same time to respond to the initiative. Otherwise, the match is broken.

The user can extend the connection time to an additional 24 hours. All profiles receive one free extension per day. In the paid version of the app, users can use this function for an unlimited number of matches. The paid version of the application starts at R$9.90.

Bumble also has options for connecting with other people that don't involve flirting. Bumble BFF focuses on those looking for friendships and Bumble Bizz focuses on those looking for mentors for careers and business.

Jaumo

With 50 million users and present in 130 countries, the Jaumo dating app allows you to meet people for both flirting and friendship. On Jaumo, you don't need to match someone to start a conversation. Matching is also not a prerequisite for seeing users online.

A differentiator of the application is its community system, which seeks to group people around common lifestyles and interests. There are groups, for example, about football, cars and games. Other communities bring together non-monogamous people or vegans and vegetarians.

Jaumo allows users to browse the application anonymously. But for those that are not hidden, it only provides information from other profiles as long as the person has also shared them. For example, to know whether someone wants to have children or not, the user must have shared this information with others.

Happn

This dating app aims to help you find people who cross each other's paths. But, of course, the platform only recommends those who also have an account on Happn. Unlike Jaumo, Happn allows you to start a chat only when the two profiles like each other.

Happn has the CrushPoints functionality, which seeks to unite people based on the places they frequent in common. Users can select establishments from six different categories: events, bars, restaurants, sports, culture, outdoor activities. This way, singles can see profiles that also frequent the site.

Another feature of the app allows users to indicate whether or not they are ready to go on a date with a specific person. When both respond that they are ready to see each other in real life, Happn sends a notification. If only one of them responded that they want to meet the other in person, the person who rejected the user will not know.

First launched in France in 2014, Happn aims to make dating apps more connected to reality. This year, the platform has 142 million users. Brazil, with 25 million registered people, is Happn's second largest market, behind only India.

Dating: Inner Circle Encontros

The dating app emerged in 2012 with the idea of bringing greater security to its users, as all users are verified and analyzed. The platform claims that it curates profiles.

“Inner Circle is a curated app that analyzes every profile to build a community of ambitious, motivated singles who love life. It's a place where you actually want to flirt, because not everyone is here”, states a note on the app's website.

Additionally, the Inner Circle hosts dating events around the world to promote dating between people in its community.
