A new research report published in the journal Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology reveals that adults who drink two liters or more of sugary drinks or eat sweets have a higher risk of atrial fibrillation than those who don't drink.

Instead of drinking soft drinks, the researchers suggested drinking fresh unsweetened fruit or vegetable juice, which could reduce the risk of irregular heartbeat by 8 percent. In this regard, researchers have predicted that if the situation remains like this, by 2030, about 12 million people will have suffered from this disease.

The study, which analyzed health data from more than 200,000 adults, found that all those who drank more than 2 liters a week or as little as six 12-ounce cans of diet soda had a higher risk of atrial fibrillation. The risk was 20 percent higher, while those who drank regular soda had a 10 percent higher risk than those who didn't drink sugary drinks.

This is why researchers have asked all people to drink water instead of soft drinks and prefer this healthy drink.
