Rain has started in Karachi, there is a possibility of hail with strong winds


Light and moderate rain has started in different areas of Karachi with strong winds and there is a possibility of hailstorm.

According to ARY News, light and heavy rains have started in different areas of Karachi. Gadap, Sarjani Town, Tesar Town, Sadar area has started light, moderate and some places drizzle.

Regarding the current weather situation, the Meteorological Department says that at present the rain system is present in Kund Malir and surrounding areas and the rain system will reach Karachi in two to three hours.

According to the Department of Meteorology, there is a forecast of heavy rain in some places of Karachi and moderate rain in others, while there are also chances of strong winds and hailstorm in the suburbs.

Rain will continue intermittently in Karachi and its suburbs till tomorrow and partial cold wave may also come after the rain.

Following the forecast of the Meteorological Department, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has already put all local bodies, administrations and hospitals on high alert by imposing a rain emergency in the province.

The government of Sindh has also announced a half-day holiday today in government and semi-government offices of Karachi Division.

In this regard, the Sindh government has directed to close all the offices of the corporation, local councils in the notification at 2 pm. However, this notification will not apply to those performing basic and emergency duties.

The education department has also announced a holiday in all educational institutions in the evening shift across Sindh in view of the weather conditions.

It should be noted that this western wind system has predicted rain and hail in most parts of the country, while there is a possibility of snowfall in the mountains.

The National Disaster Management Authority has issued an alert regarding possible rains and snowfall, according to NDMA heavy rains may cause flooding in Karachi, Hyderabad, Gwadar, Peshawar, Mardan.
