More children die of malnutrition in Gaza

Food shortages and lack of medical facilities in Gaza continue to cost lives.

The ministry said four children died of severe malnutrition at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, while seven others are in critical condition.

The director of the hospital says that the hospital has not been able to provide service due to lack of fuel to run its generators.

The ministry called for immediate aid across Gaza, warning that thousands of people could die in the coming days if the hunger crisis is not addressed.

A senior UN aid official has warned that a quarter of the population of war-torn Gaza is on the brink of famine.

While informing the Security Council, he said that one out of every six children under the age of two in northern Gaza is suffering from severe weakness. The official said that all 2.2 million people in the Palestinian Territory are dependent on grossly inadequate food aid for survival.

Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh said that Israel is committing the worst atrocities against humanity, including the massacre and displacement of civilians, and the international community, especially the Arab countries, has a duty to stop the ground attack on Rafah. and oppose and stop Israel's actions to prevent malnutrition in the northern part of the Strip.
