Rawalpindi: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz set a deadline of November 2025 for the completion of Doduchha Dam and said that additional work force should be deployed at the dam site and work should be started on different sections.

According to details, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz reached Duduchha Dam site during her visit to Rawalpindi, where she reviewed the construction activities of Duduchha Dam site in detail.

On this occasion, it was informed in the briefing that the work on Duduchha Dam project has been resumed from November 2023, the process of releasing water on the spillway for Duduchha Dam is going on.

Maryam Nawaz, while setting a deadline of November 2025 for the completion of Duduchha Dam, said that additional work force should be deployed at the Duduchha Dam site and work on different sections should be started.

The Chief Minister of Punjab said that Pakistan is on the top of the countries suffering from severe water shortage, more and more dams should be built to save the rainwater from being wasted.

He further said that Rawalpindi and other areas are facing severe shortage of water, Duduchha Dam will meet the water requirement, with the construction of the dam, clean water will be available to Rawalpindi and its suburbs.
